Associate Data Specialist

About the role

The Associate Data Specialist will support data‑driven decision‑making across development, humanitarian and peace programmes. Working under delegated authority, the incumbent will design, maintain and improve data systems and analytics workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement databases, data collection systems and analytics pipelines.
• Identify appropriate data sources, acquire and clean data from primary and secondary sources.
• Perform statistical analysis on structured and unstructured data to uncover trends and patterns.
• Maintain and quality‑assure databases, including UN INFO and CF results data.
• Create reports, dashboards and visualisations to communicate findings to management.
• Document methodology, requirements and establish documentation standards.
• Support data scientists and analysts by preparing datasets for feature extraction.
• Design and automate internal processes to improve data delivery and scalability.
• Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists and other stakeholders to enhance data quality and flows.
• Contribute to data‑related technical problem solving and infrastructure updates.
