APU Quality Leader

About the role

The APU Quality Leader is responsible for coordinating quality activities within the APU department, ensuring compliance with standards, and driving continuous improvement. This role works closely with APU managers, site quality management, and customers to resolve quality issues and maintain product integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate quality team members and manage process and product audits.
• Initiate and follow up QRQC actions in the QIM database, validating containment measures.
• Support APU and site managers in issue analysis and customer return tracking.
• Conduct line audits, identify non‑conformities, and define corrective actions.
• Lead eradication of customer and non‑quality issues, ensuring “stop at first disagree” and “stop at first no” principles.
• Revise control plans after incidents and verify 4M matrix compliance for product or process changes.
• Update quality documentation following process changes.
• Monitor process conformance to specifications through machine capability studies and yearly product audits.
• Exercise authority to stop production lines when standards, safety, or quality risks are identified.
• Represent the customer within Valeo on quality matters, handling communication and escalation.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of automotive quality standards and audit procedures.
• Ability to lead cross‑functional teams and drive corrective actions.
• Excellent analytical skills for root‑cause analysis and issue containment.
• Proactive attitude with a focus on continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.

Required skills

• Experience with QRQC, QIM database, and 4M matrix methodology.
• Knowledge of control plan management and product audit processes.
• Familiarity with machine capability assessment and non‑conformance handling.
