AI-Assisted Template Creation Intern – Summer 2026

About the role

Join STMicroelectronics as a Summer 2026 intern to work on a real developer‑tooling product – a VS Code extension used by embedded software engineers. You will help integrate AI capabilities through GitHub Copilot, enhancing the developer experience at the intersection of AI‑assisted development, Language Server Protocol (LSP), and VS Code extension technology.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and extend features of the VS Code extension written in TypeScript.
• Integrate GitHub Copilot and other LLM‑based coding assistants into the existing solution.
• Collaborate with the Embedded SW Team to gather requirements and provide technical documentation.
• Work with Handlebars/template engines and assist in maintaining the monorepo tooling (Nx/Lerna).
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement of the product.

Required profile

• Degree in Software Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong interest in AI/ML, especially LLM‑based coding assistants.
• Fluent English for technical documentation; French is a plus.

Required skills

• TypeScript / JavaScript (mandatory).
• Experience or interest in VS Code Extension API.
• Familiarity with Language Server Protocol (LSP) – a plus.
• Knowledge of Handlebars or other template engines – a plus.
• Basic understanding of Node.js and monorepo tools such as Nx or Lerna – a plus.
