Accounts Payable Clerk

About the role

The Accounts Payable Clerk supports the finance team by ensuring accurate entry of financial data, maintaining cash records, and complying with company policies. This full‑time position is based in Tunis and reports to the finance supervisor.

Key responsibilities

• Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper coding.
• Organize, secure, and maintain files, records, cash and cash equivalents in line with company policies.
• Record, store, and analyze computerized financial information using journals and ledgers.
• Complete period‑end closing procedures and prepare related reports.
• Audit cashier banks periodically and manage petty cash, contracts and cash variances according to SOPs.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least one year of relevant accounts payable or finance experience.
• Ability to follow company policies, maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professional appearance.
• Physical ability to lift objects up to 10 lb without assistance.

Required skills

• Basic accounting knowledge and familiarity with journal and ledger entries.
• Attention to detail for mathematical accuracy and coding.
• Proficiency in using computer‑based financial systems.
