Test Equipment Planning Engineer

About the role

The Test Equipment Planning Engineer is responsible for defining and delivering test equipment solutions that support automotive product development and production. Working closely with development, quality, and production planning teams, you will create specifications, concepts, and cost‑effective test strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop specification sheets for test equipment programming, covering electronics, single‑part builds, and various assembly technologies.
• Design test concepts and perform cycle‑time and cost calculations for new projects.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to create test equipment concepts and prepare technical specifications for in‑circuit, functional, end‑of‑line, shipping, and safe‑launch testers.
• Define and apply test standards, ensuring compliance with product‑group and mechanical equipment standards.
• Generate product and software requirements, supporting their implementation in development.
• Assist automation and investment projects, including amortisation calculations and procurement of test equipment.
• Monitor equipment manufacturing, initial operation, operator qualification, and optimisation activities.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience with parallel projects and measurement technology.
• Proven ability to prepare technical specification documents for automotive products.
• Fluent English; German language skills are a plus.
• Strong teamwork and problem‑solving abilities.
