About the role
Regnology, a global leader in regulatory reporting for financial institutions, regulators and tax authorities, is offering an internship for its Abacus360 Banking Technical Support team. The project builds a lightweight incident intelligence Proof of Concept (PoC) that analyzes incoming Jira Service Management tickets and groups incidents by software layer to spot recurring issues and emerging patterns. It covers incident classification, data analysis, monitoring and anomaly detection, and runs under mentor supervision with customer data handled only in approved systems.
Key responsibilities
- Analyze Jira Service Management tickets and identify fields and keywords for incident classification.
- Develop a lightweight, rules-based classifier to group incidents by software layers and technical components.
- Organize incidents into categories such as Web UI, batch and process execution, data ingestion, SQLX/Spark calculations, DAAL services, ClickHouse/Oracle/Trino storage and embedded components.
- Identify recurring issues and patterns to make incident clusters more visible.
- Establish incident baselines and detect unusual increases in incident volume over rolling periods.
- Define rules and thresholds for notifying the team about potential release-related or platform-wide problems.
- Contribute to a dashboard visualizing incident clusters, trends and risk areas.
- Test alerting workflows in a controlled environment before any live Microsoft Teams escalations.
- Document classification rules, detection criteria, notification procedures and project findings, and validate the PoC with mentors.
Required profile
- Final-year student in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related technical field.
- Interest in data analysis, software systems, technical troubleshooting and monitoring.
- Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail and good communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, international environment and respect data confidentiality.
Required skills
- Tools: Linux, Java, Python, APIs (e.g. Postman), SQL and databases, Jira Service Management, monitoring tools (e.g. Grafana, Google Cloud Monitoring).
- Familiarity with these tools is a plus but not mandatory; willingness to learn is highly valued.
The recruitment process includes an HR interview with the Talent Acquisition Manager and a short technical interview covering computer science basics, analytical thinking and incident classification reasoning.
