Software Engineer

About the role

Aquila Engineering is seeking a full‑time Software Engineer to join its team in Sfax. You will work closely with cross‑functional groups to design, develop, and maintain back‑end services that power safety and reliability platforms for the oil and gas sector.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain back‑end APIs and services for real‑time monitoring and data processing.
• Enhance existing systems, optimise performance, and ensure scalability.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code while adhering to secure coding practices.
• Troubleshoot issues, participate in code reviews, and contribute to architectural decisions.
• Integrate new technologies that improve safety, usability, and system reliability.

Required profile

• Completed preparatory school/cycle and passed the national engineering school entrance exam.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Java, C#, Python, etc.).
• Experience with back‑end web development, APIs, databases, and server‑side frameworks.
• Strong understanding of OOP, design patterns, secure coding, and version control (Git).
• Ability to work on‑site in Sfax and collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
