Senior Technical Team Leader – Business Intelligence, Data Governance & Reporting

About the role

We are looking for a senior technical leader to drive our Business Intelligence, Data Governance and Reporting initiatives. The role will shape BI strategy, mentor the team and deliver high‑impact analytics solutions for our global banking software customers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of BI strategies, tools and reporting solutions aligned with business objectives.
• Act as the BI subject‑matter expert, supporting internal projects and mentoring team members on best practices.
• Design, implement and maintain scalable data models, analytical layers and interactive Power BI dashboards.
• Continuously optimise the BI architecture for scalability, performance and adaptability.
• Apply performance‑tuning techniques to improve data processing, dashboard responsiveness and user experience.
• Ensure data quality, consistency and governance across all BI deliverables.
• Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists and business stakeholders to define and meet BI requirements.
• Leverage advanced Power BI features (DAX, Power Query, Power BI Service) to build automated reporting and analytical solutions.
• Host workshops and office hours to guide business units on Power BI usage, self‑service BI and troubleshooting.
• Stay current with emerging BI tools, trends and methodologies to drive continuous innovation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, including data warehousing, ETL pipelines and reporting.
• Expert‑level proficiency in Power BI; certified Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL300) and CDMP‑DAMA.
• Strong command of DAX, Power Query, SQL and Python for data modelling, integration and analysis.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum or traditional project‑management methodologies.
• Familiarity with modern cloud data platforms such as Snowflake or Azure Synapse.
• Solid understanding of data governance, privacy and security best practices.
• Excellent problem‑solving, analytical thinking and attention to detail.
• Ability to translate complex technical topics into clear, business‑friendly language.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
