Senior Planning Engineer – EPCC Projects

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Planning Engineer to lead planning and project controls for multiple EPCC projects in the Oil & Gas and Energy sectors. The role involves developing detailed schedules, managing earned value, and providing reliable forecasts to senior management and clients.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Level 4 Primavera P6 schedules for several projects simultaneously.
• Prepare 3‑week and 6‑week look‑ahead plans and drive progress tracking with site teams.
• Set up and operate Earned Value Management systems, including weighted WBS, progress measurement rules, and credit steps.
• Track PV, EV, AC, analyse SPI/CPI trends, produce forecasts (EAC, ETC) and cross‑check with critical path analysis.
• Prepare Monthly Progress Reports and present them to senior management and clients.
• Define scope, milestones and KPIs with project managers and engineering leads.
• Integrate engineering, procurement, construction, PCC and HSE inputs into a coherent plan.
• Run schedule risk assessments and propose mitigation and recovery plans.
• Assess resource needs and adjust allocations to protect key milestones.

Required profile

• 10+ years of planning and scheduling experience on EPC projects in Oil & Gas or Energy.
• Advanced Primavera P6 skills, including Level 4 schedules, baselines and resource loading.
• Hands‑on Earned Value Management expertise with a track record of variance analysis and recovery planning.
• Strong understanding of Project Controls & Cost integration.
• Experience supervising planners and working on‑site.
• Fluent English; Arabic and/or French a strong plus.
• Willingness to travel to project sites.
