Senior Electrical Engineer – Utility‑Scale Solar (Liberia)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the electrical execution of a utility‑scale solar PV project in Liberia. The role covers installation, testing, commissioning and grid energisation of a large‑scale solar plant.

Key responsibilities

• Lead installation of solar modules, mounting structures, DC/AC cabling, inverters and medium‑voltage (MV) systems.
• Execute MV switchgear, power transformer and dedicated sub‑station works, including installation, testing & commissioning and energisation.
• Deliver grid connectivity through SCADA monitoring, protection systems, utility coordination and power evacuation.
• Manage testing and commissioning activities to achieve full power feed‑in to the utility grid.
• Supervise site electrical teams and subcontractors, ensuring QA/QC, safety compliance and schedule adherence.
• Coordinate with the client (LEC), consultants and project management throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 8+ years of electrical execution experience, with at least 5 years on utility‑scale solar PV EPC projects of 5 MWp or larger.
• Hands‑on experience in testing & commissioning of inverters, MV switchgear (11–33 kV), power transformers and SCADA systems.
• Sub‑station experience (AIS/GIS) and exposure to grid interconnection.
• Prior experience on African or remote international sites is strongly preferred.
• Ability to mobilise to Liberia within 30 days.
