Senior Accountant

About the role

We are recruiting on behalf of a renowned British multinational company for a Senior Accountant based in Tunis. The role involves managing the full accounting cycle, ensuring compliance with standards, and providing financial insights to support strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
• Handle daily finance work, month‑end and year‑end closing processes, including account reconciliations and journal entries.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Perform variance analysis and provide actionable financial insights to management.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts, bank statements, and other financial data.
• Assist with internal and external audits by preparing documentation and addressing auditor inquiries.
• Support budgeting and forecasting efforts with detailed financial data and analysis.
• Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard financial data.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with 4‑6+ years of relevant experience.
• In‑depth knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS) and financial reporting standards.
• Hands‑on experience across general accounting, accounts payable/receivable, tax accounting, fixed assets, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Very good English proficiency.
• Extensive experience in preparing financial statements, performing reconciliations, and managing month‑end close processes.
• Advanced Excel skills for data analysis, financial modeling, and reporting.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting financial information to stakeholders.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
