Regional Coordinator - North Africa

About the role

Media in Cooperation and Transition (MiCT) seeks a freelance Arabic‑speaking Regional Coordinator to support the “MiCT Fellowship for Critical Voices 2026‑2027” across North Africa. The role is based in Tunis and runs from August 2026 to June 2027, with up to 150 working days depending on project implementation.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the regional implementation of the fellowship programme, ensuring alignment with MiCT’s objectives and the German Federal Foreign Office funding requirements.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for partners, journalists, and civil‑society actors in North Africa.
• Monitor project progress, prepare regular reports, and flag any operational risks.
• Facilitate recruitment, onboarding, and logistical support for fellows and associated media activities.
• Contribute to the development of outreach materials and communication strategies in Arabic.

Required profile

• Fluent Arabic (written and spoken) and strong command of English.
• Proven experience in media‑related projects, programme or project management, preferably in complex or transitional contexts.
• Understanding of human‑rights and protection issues in the region.
• Ability to work independently on a freelance basis and reside in Tunis for the contract duration.
