QA Automation Engineer – Gauge & Selenium

About the role

You will join the Quality Assurance team to maintain and expand an end‑to‑end automated test suite built with Gauge for executable specifications and Selenium WebDriver for browser control. The suite runs in GitLab CI on every release, providing a regression safety net and living documentation of product behaviour.

Key responsibilities

• Write Gauge specifications from user stories and acceptance criteria using reusable, parameterised steps.
• Implement and maintain step definitions, Page Objects and Selenium locators as the application evolves.
• Design test data and configuration files in YAML and keep GitLab CI pipelines green.
• Execute test campaigns across development, staging and pre‑production environments via Gauge environment profiles.
• Analyse execution reports, classify failures, and raise clear, reproducible defect tickets.
• Stabilise flaky tests through explicit waits, proper synchronisation and data isolation.
• Participate in agile ceremonies, review test code and perform exploratory testing for uncovered scenarios.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of experience in manual or automated testing.
• Fluent English (written and spoken) – mandatory for specifications, tickets and meetings.
• Solid understanding of test design techniques, including happy‑path, negative, boundary and regression testing.
• Experience with defect management tools such as Jira, Xray or TestRail in an agile context.

Required skills

• Gauge (specifications, tags, environment profiles) or similar BDD framework.
• Selenium WebDriver, explicit waits and Page Object pattern.
• Web fundamentals: HTML, DOM, CSS, HTTP methods and status codes.
• Programming in Java, JavaScript, Python or C# for step implementations.
• GitLab CI pipelines, branches, merge requests and YAML configuration.
• Defect tracking with Jira, Xray or TestRail.
