Project Engineer – Renewable Energy

About the role

Scatec, a leading global renewable energy developer, is seeking a Project Engineer to join its team in Tunis, Tunisia. The engineer will be responsible for all technical deliverables of photovoltaic projects, from the structuring phase through to technical hand‑over, ensuring compliance with PPAs, grid codes and project schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve technical supply contracts to ensure compliance with PPA, Grid Code and other critical documents.
• Monitor contractor detailed designs, guaranteeing alignment with Scatec functional requirements, site permits, local codes and industry best practice.
• Validate project programme, incorporating design timelines, equipment procurement, commissioning and grid‑connection requirements.
• Manage interfaces with contractors, equipment suppliers and utilities, negotiating technical aspects and approvals.
• Lead the utility interface process from detailed design approval through construction to grid‑connection completion.
• Maintain and update a technical risk register, supporting the PTM in risk mitigation.
• Handle design change requests, grid interface agreements and stakeholder approvals during execution.
• Provide early warnings on issues that could affect connection dates or final product quality.
• Develop plant commissioning and utility compliance plans and procedures.

Required profile

• Engineering background with experience in photovoltaic project delivery.
• Strong knowledge of PPAs, Grid Code requirements and utility interfacing.
• Proven ability to manage contracts, design reviews and stakeholder approvals.
