Program Logical Control & Automation Engineer

About the role

Autoliv is looking for a Program Logical Control & Automation Engineer to develop, integrate and maintain PLC and automation programmes for assembly machines and test systems. The role supports product and process development, commissioning and continuous improvement to ensure safe, reliable and efficient series production.

Key responsibilities

• Design, program and document PLC/HMI solutions on Siemens, Rockwell or equivalent platforms using version control.
• Integrate drives, motion controllers, safety PLCs, sensors and industrial networks to meet functional and performance specifications.
• Lead FAT/SAT commissioning activities, perform on‑site troubleshooting and optimisation for first‑time‑right results.
• Implement functional safety logic in accordance with ISO 13849, IEC 61508/62061 and conduct validation checks.
• Support machine build projects from specification through hand‑over, delivering test plans, commissioning reports and software deliverables.
• Drive continuous improvement of control strategies to increase OEE, reduce downtime and enhance maintainability.
• Maintain technical documentation, source code repositories, electrical schematics, communication maps and change records.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to select components, resolve issues and align delivery schedules.

Required profile

• Proven experience in PLC/HMI development for industrial automation.
• Strong knowledge of functional safety standards (ISO 13849, IEC 61508/62061).
• Ability to lead commissioning, FAT/SAT and on‑site troubleshooting.
• Excellent documentation and version‑control practices.
• Team‑oriented mindset with capability to work with cross‑functional stakeholders.
