Production Technician - Metal Packaging

About the role

CROWN Maghreb Can is looking for a highly motivated Production Technician to operate and maintain manufacturing equipment in its metal packaging plant. The role ensures efficient production and quality control of metal packaging products.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor production machinery such as presses, forming machines and conveyor systems, following safety protocols and operating procedures.
• Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance and minor repairs on equipment to minimise downtime.
• Monitor product quality through visual checks and measuring tools, ensuring compliance with specifications.
• Troubleshoot basic equipment faults and escalate complex problems to senior technicians or supervisors.
• Load and unload raw materials and finished products, keeping accurate material handling and inventory records.
• Complete production records, logs and quality control documentation accurately and on time.
• Maintain a clean, organised workplace according to 5S principles and safety regulations.
• Work with team members and supervisors to meet production targets and support continuous improvement.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; a technical diploma or certification (e.g. industrial mechanics, electrical technology) is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints and production specifications.
• Good verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Required skills

• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to operate and troubleshoot production machinery.
• Basic understanding of electrical systems and control panels is an advantage.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications is a plus.
