Production Inspection Clerk

About the role

The Production Inspection Clerk supports the assembly area by ensuring that all products meet the defined quality standards. Working on the shop floor, the role involves performing inspections, recording data, and communicating any non‑conformities to the line and quality teams.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out all checks defined in the Quality Control plan and record required data.
• Identify non‑conforming products using the “red card” process.
• Distribute and collect PDEK or other control charts.
• Provide feedback to the production line and WPA for any defects using the stop‑at‑first‑defect approach.
• Inspect 5S and housekeeping compliance within the assigned area.
• Detect product‑risk situations such as material on the floor, damaged terminals, or mixed components.
• Verify operator qualifications against the skills matrix and ensure adherence to the “OK to Start” procedure each shift.
• Check error‑proofing measures (good/bad sample tests, poka‑yoke, jigs) for conformity.
• Confirm availability and proper use of assembly aid tools.
• Validate packing completion according to work instructions.
• Ensure in‑line and off‑line reworks are performed by qualified operators with released tools.
• Audit final harness inspection in line with the QM plan.

Required profile

• Minimum education: BAC (high school diploma).
• Fluency in English and French.
• At least 1 year of experience in a production or quality inspection environment.
• Strong communication, intercultural sensitivity, and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to manage change, stay results‑oriented, and handle conflicts.
