Problem Solving Senior Engineer

About the role

Autoliv is dedicated to saving lives by delivering high‑quality vehicle safety systems such as seatbelts, airbags and steering wheels. As a Problem Solving Senior Engineer you will lead complex quality investigations and support continuous improvement across the automotive product line.

Key responsibilities

• Lead high‑priority quality investigations and customer escalations using 8D and root‑cause analysis.
• Facilitate and coach cross‑functional teams through Gemba visits, fact‑based investigations and corrective‑action validation.
• Coordinate testing, data analysis and validation plans to confirm root causes.
• Deliver training on problem‑solving methodologies and support major customer quality issues.
• Update PFMEA, Control Plans, work instructions and training materials.
• Drive lessons learned, Yokoten deployment and best‑practice sharing to eliminate recurring defects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of automotive industry experience with strong knowledge of IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP and PFMEA.
• Six Sigma Green Belt (Black Belt preferred) and proven ability to lead investigations and cross‑functional workshops.
• Fluent English; working knowledge of French is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, fact‑based problem‑solving mindset and excellent communication skills.

• IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans.
• Green Belt, Black Belt certification.
