Primary Lead Engineer

About the role

The Primary Lead Engineer is responsible for guaranteeing the performance, budget, schedule and quality of design work for high‑voltage substation projects. The role combines technical leadership with project management to ensure installations are reliable, easy to operate and maintain.

Key responsibilities

• Design and layout high‑voltage (HV) substations in compliance with industry standards.
• Manage full‑set design packages, maintain discipline document lists and KPI tracking on a monthly basis.
• Lead design reviews, gate reviews and mitigation planning, ensuring actions are identified and closed.
• Utilise design management tools, maintain workload plans and oversee the design change process.
• Coordinate interface sheets with partners and suppliers, preventing scope gaps.
• Organise coordination meetings, use the NCR system, and ensure adherence to quality and GE policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or a related engineering field.
• Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in T&D, STATCOM, power generation or oil & gas EPC projects.
• Ability to travel up to 20 % within MEA, Europe and other regions.
• Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
