Payroll Specialist (Remote, Tunisia)

About the role

Premier NX is looking for a detail‑oriented Payroll Specialist to join its remote team in Tunisia. You will ensure accurate, on‑time payroll processing while complying with Tunisian labor and tax regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Process end‑to‑end payroll within established timelines.
• Maintain employee payroll records, including hires, terminations, salary changes and benefits updates.
• Calculate salaries, overtime, bonuses, commissions, deductions and statutory contributions.
• Ensure compliance with Tunisian labor laws, tax requirements and social security obligations.
• Prepare payroll reports, reconciliations and supporting documentation for Finance and management.
• Handle payroll adjustments, reimbursements and off‑cycle payments as needed.
• Support monthly payroll reconciliations and financial closing activities.
• Respond to employee payroll inquiries promptly and professionally.
• Assist with payroll audits, tax filings and statutory reporting.
• Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and operational efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, Business Administration or related field.
• 3–5 years of payroll processing experience, preferably in a multinational or shared‑services environment.
• Strong knowledge of Tunisian payroll principles, labor laws, tax regulations and statutory compliance.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting while managing multiple priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Experience with payroll software and ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Sage or Odoo.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
