Packaging Specialist – Automotive Packaging Engineering

About the role

Autoliv is seeking a Packaging Specialist to develop, optimize, and maintain packaging solutions that protect product integrity while meeting cost, quality, regulatory, and sustainability goals. You will work within a cross‑functional team to ensure packaging performs throughout manufacturing, storage, and transportation.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and validate primary, secondary and tertiary packaging solutions.
• Optimize packaging costs through material selection, standardisation and supplier collaboration.
• Conduct packaging trials, drop tests, shelf‑life and transport simulations.
• Investigate packaging‑related quality issues and drive CAPA actions.
• Coordinate specifications, innovations and performance with packaging suppliers.
• Maintain packaging BOMs, technical drawings and specifications in ERP systems.
• Support manufacturing lines with packaging process improvements and troubleshooting.
• Identify opportunities to reduce material usage and environmental impact.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• 3+ years of packaging engineering or development experience, preferably in the automotive sector.
• Strong problem‑solving and project‑management abilities.
• Fluent English communication skills.

• Packaging design and development.
