Mid/Senior Data Engineer

About the role

Yassir is building a unified data platform on Google Cloud to support its fast‑growing super‑app ecosystem. As a Mid/Senior Data Engineer you will design, implement and optimise large‑scale batch and streaming pipelines that feed analytics, AI/ML models and business applications across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain a centralized data lake on GCP using services such as BigQuery, Dataproc, Dataflow, Dataplex and Cloud Storage.
• Develop, optimise and monitor PySpark batch and streaming jobs.
• Design and implement data validation, quality checks and governance processes.
• Collaborate with AI/ML teams to provide clean, reliable data for model training and monitoring.
• Work with product, operations, marketing and commercial teams to translate business needs into data solutions.
• Create and manage ETL/ELT workflows with Airflow, Prefect or Luigi.
• Investigate and resolve data issues, performing root‑cause analysis when needed.
• Explore new technologies, prototype proofs‑of‑concept and contribute to Gen‑AI initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong experience with PySpark, Scala or Python for data processing.
• Hands‑on expertise with Google Cloud Platform services (BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Dataproc, Dataplex, Cloud Storage).
• Solid understanding of data warehousing, data modelling and data governance.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Proactive attitude, mentoring mindset and willingness to support junior team members.
