Media and Communication Associate

About the role

The Media and Communication Associate will support the Programme Support Unit in Tunisia by delivering public information, media relations and communication activities that promote IOM’s mission on migration. Working under the Chief of Mission and the PSU Coordinator, the role involves content creation, stakeholder engagement and event support.

Key responsibilities

• Gather, prepare and disseminate public information on IOM activities and develop standard media messages on migration issues.
• Draft newsletters, press briefings, website and social‑media content in coordination with the Media and Communications Officer.
• Translate non‑official communications between English, Arabic and French as needed.
• Maintain relationships with press, radio and TV outlets and produce a daily news digest for internal distribution.
• Support event organization, including talking points, speeches and visual materials, ensuring compliance with IOM visibility guidelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Media, Journalism or related field with at least 3 years of relevant experience, or a high‑school diploma with 5 years of experience.
• Demonstrated experience in media, public relations and administrative duties, preferably in migration or humanitarian contexts.
• Fluency in Arabic, English and French (oral and written).

Required skills

• Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Publisher.
• Strong command of Microsoft Office and social‑media management tools.
• Experience in audio‑visual production, graphic design, photography and video editing.
