Mechanical Engineer & Mold Maintenance Technician

About the role

Gruner Tunisia is seeking a Mechanical Engineer and a Mold Maintenance Technician to join its agile, cross‑functional teams. You will support customer‑driven product and process improvements while ensuring the reliability and performance of production molds.

Key responsibilities

• Translate customer and production requirements into cost‑effective mechanical solutions.
• Design, optimise and validate manufacturing processes, equipment and production systems.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on molds, diagnose faults and execute repairs.
• Apply Lean Manufacturing tools (VSM, waste reduction, line balancing, Poka‑Yoke) and support risk management through PFMEA.
• Develop and update technical documentation, specifications, work instructions and equipment drawings.
• Participate in solving production bottlenecks, machine reliability issues and continuous‑improvement projects.

Required profile

• Technical apprenticeship or degree in Mechatronics or Mechanical Engineering with several years of professional experience.
• Proven experience in mold maintenance, repair and operation of machine tools (milling, lathe).
• Ability to read 2D and 3D technical drawings and strong analytical/problem‑solving skills.
• Experience working in international, cross‑functional agile teams and communicating with customers and suppliers.
• Very good written and spoken English; German is a plus.

• Lean Manufacturing tools (VSM, waste reduction, line balancing, Poka‑Yoke).
• PFMEA and risk‑management techniques.
• Machine‑tool operation (milling, lathe) and machining processes.
• Reading and interpreting 2D/3D technical drawings.
