Head of Credit

About the role

Bank ABC is seeking a Head of Credit for its Tunisian branch. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the successful candidate will lead the Credit Department, ensuring that credit proposals are reviewed, approved, and monitored in line with the bank’s policies and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage credit risk for all bank lending and operational activities.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate credit risks associated with the bank’s portfolio.
• Ensure compliance with ABC’s policies, standards, procedures, and Central Bank regulations.
• Oversee monitoring of the credit portfolio and facility utilization at the obligor level.
• Prepare and present periodic reports to the CEO, local and group credit committees, and other relevant bodies.
• Drive improvements to the bank’s policy and procedure documentation.
• Promote a strong risk culture and uphold professional and ethical standards across the organization.

Required profile

• University degree in Banking, Finance, Economics or equivalent.
• Master’s degree or professional certification in Accounting, Finance, Business or Economics.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in financial analysis and credit assessment within banking or rating agencies.
• At least 7 years of experience in credit assessment and post‑approval processes in the private banking sector.
• Fluency in French, English and Arabic with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and strategic thinking abilities.
