Frontend Developer – React & Legacy Stack

About the role

Reporting to a Software Development Lead, you will build the interfaces customers use to manage websites, domains and email. You will work in a squad with back‑end developers and designers across Montreal and Tunis, balancing a modern React platform with a legacy jQuery/PHP stack.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new features on the React platform (responsive, bilingual, accessible, tested).
• Maintain and extend existing jQuery and PHP‑rendered interfaces, including embedded React components.
• Translate designs into functional UI and raise issues when designs clash with real data or bilingual requirements.
• Create reusable components using the company’s own component library.
• Consume internal APIs and provide feedback on API design.
• Test and troubleshoot across browsers, screen sizes, and both host applications.
• Integrate AI tooling into the development workflow.

Required profile

• Several years of production front‑end development with strong JavaScript, HTML and CSS skills.
• Experience with modern component frameworks, ideally React (or willingness to switch from Vue/Angular/Svelte).
• Comfort with the legacy stack: jQuery, direct DOM manipulation, Bootstrap CSS and PHP‑rendered templates.
• Ability to read PHP templates and understand CSS specificity across multiple stylesheet eras.
• Fluency in English and French, written and spoken.
• Ability to pass a security background check.

Required skills

• React (React 19, Vite, Tailwind, TanStack Query, React Hook Form).
• jQuery, Bootstrap, PHP templating.
• HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
• Git and Linux command‑line proficiency.
• WordPress or comparable CMS with custom plugin/theme experience.
• Understanding of web hosting and domain name concepts.
• Deliberate use of AI tools in development.
