Front Desk Clerk

About the role

The Front Desk Clerk is the first point of contact for guests, responsible for delivering a smooth check‑in and check‑out experience. This role requires accurate handling of reservations, payments and guest inquiries while maintaining a professional appearance.

Key responsibilities

• Process guest check‑ins, confirm reservations, assign rooms and issue keys.
• Handle all payment types, including cash, checks, debit and credit cards.
• Manage guest check‑outs, resolve late or disputed charges.
• Answer, record and process guest calls, messages and requests, providing property and local area information.
• Coordinate with Housekeeping to track room readiness and communicate parking procedures.
• Run daily arrival/departure reports and ensure report accuracy.
• Complete cashier and closing reports, count and balance cash, bank deposits and drop receipts according to accounting guidelines.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• No prior related work experience required.
• Ability to stand, sit or walk for extended periods and lift objects up to 10 lb.
• Professional appearance, clear communication and confidentiality.

Required skills

• Cash handling and basic accounting procedures.
• Proficiency with hotel front‑desk computer systems.
