Freight Data Steward

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Data Steward to join DNEXT’s growing team. The role focuses on managing, maintaining and ensuring the quality of data that powers our internal freight tool, while responding to client requests and keeping datasets accurate and up‑to‑date.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, clean and validate data from multiple internal and external sources to ensure accuracy, completeness and consistency.
• Manage and maintain datasets, guaranteeing they remain current and meet quality standards.
• Write and optimise SQL queries to extract, update and manipulate data in relational databases.
• Develop Python scripts to automate data processes, routine updates and data‑quality checks.
• Build, maintain and continuously improve Power BI dashboards and reports for business stakeholders.
• Serve as the primary contact for client and internal data requests, triaging, prioritising and implementing changes.
• Identify and resolve data‑quality issues in collaboration with relevant teams, addressing root causes.
• Document data processes, definitions and workflows to support data governance and knowledge sharing.
• Support ad‑hoc data requests and contribute to ongoing data‑management and strategy initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in a data‑steward or similar role.
• Proven track record of working with data across its full lifecycle, including quality maintenance, timely updates and handling client requests.
• Strong attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication in English and a process‑oriented mindset.
• Self‑motivated, reliable and able to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficient in SQL – complex queries, joins, aggregations and sub‑queries.
• Solid working knowledge of Python for data analysis (pandas, NumPy, matplotlib or similar libraries).
• Hands‑on experience with Power BI – data modelling, DAX and publishing interactive reports.
