Finance Associate

About the role

The Finance Associate will support UNICEF’s financial operations in Tunisia, ensuring compliance with internal rules and delivering accurate financial information. This position combines technical finance tasks with analytical support for budgeting and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and verify invoices, ensuring accuracy before submission to the Global Service Centre (GSSC).
• Maintain financial records, reconcile expenditures, balances, and bank statements on a daily basis.
• Produce recurring and ad‑hoc financial reports for budget preparation, audits, and management review.
• Support year‑end closing activities, including accounts receivable, payable, pre‑payments and related reporting.
• Assist international staff and consultants with allowances, salary advances, travel claims and other financial queries.

Required profile

• Minimum secondary education in finance, accounting, economics or related field; a bachelor’s degree can replace 3 years of experience, a master’s degree can replace an additional 2 years.
• At least 6 years of relevant experience in financial management, accounting, budgeting, cash forecasting, bank reconciliation or ERP systems.
• Proficiency in French (fluent) and knowledge of another UN language or Arabic is an asset.
