Expert IT Software Engineer

About the role

LEONI is seeking an Expert IT Software Engineer to validate, design and implement software solutions for its automotive wiring systems business. You will work closely with architecture teams and internal/external service providers to ensure technical feasibility and high‑quality delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Validate solution concepts for technical feasibility and alignment with the architectural landscape.
• Contribute to architectural overviews of proposed solutions.
• Define technical concepts based on specifications to structure development work.
• Develop or integrate solutions on the selected development platform.
• Execute white‑box tests, verify acceptance criteria and promptly fix bugs.
• Maintain and continuously improve project‑specific documentation according to governance models.
• Provide Level 2 & 3 support, improving service levels in line with SLA gaps.
• Assist end‑users in applying IT rules, procedures and instructions.
• Deliver on‑demand training sessions and communicate with internal and external service providers across all support levels.
• Establish software development guidelines based on the technical platform.
• Handle smaller projects with a significant share of development tasks.

Required profile

• University degree in Software Engineering.
• Minimum of 3 years of programming experience.
• English language proficiency of at least B1 level.
