Data Engineer – Data & Digital Transformation

About the role

ODDO BHF Data & Digital Solutions, a leading European asset manager within the Franco-German group ODDO BHF, is looking for a Data Engineer to join its Data & Digital Transformation team in Tunis. You will help design, develop and maintain the data and AI platform, build scalable data pipelines, optimise data storage and implement data governance best practices. You will work in a multi-functional squad with data scientists, developers and a product owner, and collaborate with international teams, with occasional travel to Germany and France.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain clean, tested and version-controlled dbt models following a Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold)
• Develop and maintain scalable data solutions in Snowflake, applying best practices for performance, security and operational efficiency
• Integrate data from relational databases, APIs and other sources into the platform
• Collaborate with upstream teams on data ingestion standards, access provisioning and data governance
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment
• Document data models, pipeline logic and architectural decisions for technical and non-technical audiences
• Champion data literacy and data-driven decision-making across the organisation

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
• At least 3 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role
• Experience in asset management, financial services or other regulated industries
• Good communication skills with business and technical stakeholders
• Professional working proficiency in English and French; proficiency in all three languages is a plus

Required skills

• Strong SQL; hands-on experience with Snowflake or another major cloud data warehouse is highly desirable
• Practical experience with dbt (Core or Cloud), including models, macros, tests, documentation and pipeline design
• CI/CD principles and tools (Azure DevOps or similar) and version control (Git)
• Familiarity with automation platforms and API-based integrations
• Cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or Google Cloud
• Understanding of data privacy, data governance and data quality
