Customs & Transit Coordinator

About the role

We are a leading Swiss multinational operating in Sousse, Tunisia, and we are looking for a motivated Customs & Transit Coordinator. The role involves coordinating customs and transit activities through our external customs service provider to ensure smooth import and export operations.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact between the company and the external customs broker/transit agent.
• Coordinate import, export, and transit customs clearance to guarantee on‑time shipment processing.
• Prepare, review, and submit all required documentation to the customs service provider.
• Monitor clearance status and proactively follow up on pending or delayed transactions.
• Ensure compliance with Tunisian customs regulations, international trade requirements, and internal policies.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Logistics, Purchasing, Finance, and Warehouse teams on customs‑related matters.
• Validate customs declarations, duties, taxes, and supporting documents prepared by the external provider.
• Support resolution of customs issues, disputes, audits, and inspections.
• Maintain accurate customs records and KPI reporting.
• Monitor broker performance and identify opportunities for process improvement and cost optimisation.

Required profile

• Degree in Logistics, International Trade, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in customs, logistics, freight forwarding or international trade.
• Strong understanding of customs procedures and import/export regulations.
• Experience coordinating with customs brokers, freight forwarders and government authorities.
• Fluency in English and French with excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
