Country Manager – Tunisia (Manufacturing & Automotive)

About the role

We are looking for a Country Manager to lead our manufacturing and automotive operations in Tunisia. The successful candidate will oversee both industrial and administrative functions, ensuring the subsidiary meets its financial, production and quality targets while working closely with headquarters.

Key responsibilities

• Represent the company with Tunisian institutions, trade unions, customs authorities and local stakeholders.
• Manage the subsidiary’s profit and loss in line with approved budgets and investment plans.
• Oversee all customs activities related to export regimes, import/export operations and inter‑company transfers.
• Provide strategic and day‑to‑day leadership for local manufacturing plants.
• Monitor industrial KPIs, drive continuous‑improvement projects and increase production efficiency.
• Optimize supply‑chain and logistics flows to Italy and end customers.
• Supervise production processes that rely heavily on skilled labour.
• Direct HR policies in accordance with operational needs, seasonal production cycles and Tunisian labour law.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards and maintain relevant industry certifications.

Required profile

• Engineering (Management, Mechanical, Materials) or Economics degree.
• 7‑10 years of experience as General Manager, Country Manager, Plant Director or Operations Director in international manufacturing, preferably in North Africa.
• Background in the automotive or broader manufacturing sector.
• Proven track record managing complex, labour‑intensive plants and multicultural teams.
• Strong KPI orientation and continuous‑improvement mindset.
• Excellent leadership, negotiation and stakeholder‑management abilities.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ISO and IATF quality certifications.
• Experience with customs procedures and export‑import regulations.
