Corporate Plastic Raw Materials Buyer

About the role

COFICAB Group is seeking a results‑driven Corporate Plastic Raw Materials Buyer to implement its plastic raw‑materials purchasing strategy for non‑automotive activities. The role blends technical expertise in polymers with strategic sourcing, supplier management and market intelligence to secure supply at the lowest total cost while meeting quality and sustainability goals.

Key responsibilities

• Execute the sourcing strategy for plastic raw materials: identify and pre‑qualify suppliers, manage RFI/RFP/RFQ processes and analyse technical and commercial proposals.
• Review specifications with suppliers, coordinate sample management with R&D and Innovation, and follow the homologation process.
• Prepare and negotiate procurement contracts under supervision of the Corporate Plastics & Master Batches Purchasing Manager.
• Consolidate material needs across plants, allocate volumes per supplier, and monitor monthly pricing and volume updates.
• Conduct continuous market intelligence on price trends, capacity, feedstock, regulations and sustainability requirements.
• Support supply‑risk mapping, assess supplier risk and develop contingency plans.
• Manage supplier performance, handle complaints, participate in audits and drive continuous improvement.
• Prepare purchasing KPIs, periodic reports and budget monitoring for the plastic raw‑materials category.

Required profile

• Engineering degree (Master’s level) in Plastics, Polymer Engineering, Materials Science or Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in plastics, polymers, compounds or raw‑materials purchasing.
• Strong knowledge of international supply markets and supplier qualification processes.
• Fluent in English and French.
• Ability to work in an international, multicultural environment.

Required skills

• Knowledge of plastic resins: PP, PE, PVC, PA, ABS, PC, PET, PBT.
• Understanding of technical compounds and polymer specifications.
• Solid negotiation, analytical and project‑management abilities.
