About the role

The Track Study Engineer will join SYSTRA’s Railway Infrastructure department, supporting the design and regeneration of railway track systems. Reporting to the Track division of the Railway Infrastructure Directorate, the role involves producing detailed technical studies and providing consultancy or technical control services for national and international projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare design dossiers (from preliminary studies to detailed design) including technical notes, cost estimates, and armature studies for track regeneration or new line projects.
• Conduct functional programming, longitudinal profile analysis, gauge and curve studies, and LRS (Longitudinal Railway System) assessments.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (geometry, hydraulics, geotechnics, structures) to integrate constraints and propose optimized solutions.
• Lead a team of designers, ensuring the quality and consistency of deliverables.
• Adapt production processes to meet international standards and project-specific references.
• Support project teams during construction phases (VISA missions) when required.

Required profile

• Proven ability to produce comprehensive technical and graphical design documents for railway track projects.
• Experience in estimating costs and performing armature and LRS studies.
• Strong teamwork skills, with experience supervising designers and collaborating across engineering disciplines.
• Attention to detail, clarity, conciseness, and rigor in all professional documentation.
• Capacity to propose innovative, globally optimized solutions.
