Case Worker – Support Vulnerable Migrants

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Tunisia is seeking a Case Worker to provide reception, orientation, referral and assistance to vulnerable migrants, including unaccompanied children, trafficking victims and medical cases. Working under the supervision of the Protection Officer, the role contributes to the protection and reintegration of migrants in Tunisia.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct screening interviews to assess vulnerability, identify needs and determine eligibility for IOM assistance.
• Refer eligible beneficiaries to medical, psychosocial, legal, and voluntary return services.
• Provide individual counseling and distribute information on available social and medical services.
• Deliver group orientation sessions and coordinate referrals to partner agencies.
• Follow up with partners to ensure delivery of assistance and maintain case files.
• Support case‑management planning for short‑, medium‑ and long‑term solutions.
• Prepare financial documents related to direct assistance.
• Assist in outreach activities, including emergency support in shelters.
• Compile case reports and statistical data while respecting IOM data‑protection standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Health, Psychology or related field with at least two years relevant experience, OR high‑school diploma in the same fields with four years experience.
• Proven experience assisting migrants or vulnerable populations in humanitarian contexts.
