Buy Part Engineer – Supplier Management for Sheet Metal & Welded Assemblies

About the role

As a Buy Part Engineer you will be responsible for managing the supply chain of stamped sheet‑metal parts and welded assemblies from initial sourcing through to serial production. You will work closely with suppliers, project teams and quality stakeholders to ensure technical feasibility, cost competitiveness and on‑time delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate supplier offers and support selection decisions.
• Perform technical analysis of tooling, materials, simulations and manufacturing processes to guarantee product feasibility and process robustness.
• Coordinate technical requirements and project data with suppliers.
• Negotiate part and tooling costs while ensuring compliance with specifications.
• Supervise tooling trials, production launches and monitor supplier performance.
• Track product quality, analyse defects and drive corrective‑action plans.
• Manage APQP activities and ensure compliance with customer requirements.
• Validate capability studies and support transition to serial production.

Required profile

• Engineering degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Automotive or related field.
• Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Strong analytical, negotiation and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Fluent in English and French.

Required skills

• Knowledge of stamping processes.
• Tooling expertise.
• Proficiency with CAD tools.
• Simulation analysis experience.
• Understanding of APQP and PPAP.
• Familiarity with quality management systems.
