Application Support Engineer – Relocation to Portugal

About the role

We are looking for an Application Support Engineer who will relocate to Lisbon and join our fast‑growing technology consulting team. You will ensure the continuity of business‑critical applications and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver reliable services.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and support production applications, investigate incidents and analyse logs.
• Maintain service continuity, manage escalations and follow up on resolutions.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, development, production and business teams on deployments, testing, releases and documentation.
• Handle file transfers and messaging platforms, using Linux/Unix, Tomcat, JBoss, Apache HTTP Server, IBM MQ, Axway CFT/Secure Transport, SFTP/FTPS/HTTPS/PeSIT.
• Utilise monitoring and ticketing tools such as Jira and ServiceNow; Control‑M and production monitoring tools are a plus.

Required profile

• Strong troubleshooting, analytical and communication skills.
• Experience in Application Support or Production Support with a proactive, solution‑driven mindset.
• Ability to work autonomously, take initiative and maintain a client‑focused attitude.

Required skills

• Linux/Unix, Tomcat, JBoss, Apache HTTP Server.
• IBM MQ, Axway CFT/Secure Transport, SFTP, FTPS, HTTPS, PeSIT.
• Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, SSL/TLS, SSH, VPN.
• Jira, ServiceNow, Control‑M, PGP/GPG, TLS.
• Scripting: Bash, Shell, Python.
• Knowledge of APIs, integration platforms and ITIL concepts.
