Application Support Engineer

About the role

Novelus Team is seeking an Application Support Engineer to maintain the availability and usability of non‑ERP business applications. The role involves handling incidents, performing root‑cause analysis, and coordinating with infrastructure and cybersecurity teams to ensure smooth operation.

Key responsibilities

• Handle incidents and service requests for assigned applications, assess business impact, prioritize work and own resolution through closure.
• Investigate application logs, configurations, scheduled jobs, interfaces and API failures using authorized database queries.
• Support Windows and Linux servers, virtual machines, and application‑hosting environments, including performance monitoring and scheduled‑task troubleshooting.
• Perform approved OS patches, software updates, configuration changes and assist with backup monitoring, restores and disaster‑recovery exercises.
• Maintain runbooks, asset records, known errors and vendor contacts, and implement corrective actions for recurring incidents.

Required profile

• 4–7 years of experience supporting production business applications, with at least 2 years in L2 diagnosis, release support and vendor escalation.
• Experience with non‑ERP applications, SQL and API troubleshooting, and familiarity with ITIL Foundation practices.

Required skills

• Practical SQL querying and log analysis.
• API troubleshooting and integration support.
• Scripting and release‑management capabilities.
• Administration of Windows and Linux servers, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and virtualization platforms.
• OS patching, backup monitoring, disaster‑recovery procedures and ITIL Foundation knowledge.
