Accounts Payable Clerk

About the role

The Accounts Payable Clerk supports the finance team by ensuring accurate recording of financial transactions, maintaining cash controls and assisting with period‑end processes at our Tunis office.

Key responsibilities

• Check figures, postings and documents for accuracy and proper coding.
• Organize, secure and maintain files, records, cash and cash equivalents in line with policies.
• Record, store and analyse computerized financial information using journals, ledgers and computer systems.
• Classify, code and summarize numerical data to compile financial records.
• Complete period‑end closing procedures and related reports.
• Audit cashier banks periodically and maintain petty cash, cashier banks and contracts.
• Document and act upon cash variances according to SOPs and act as liaison with armored‑car services or banking institutions.
• Participate in internal, external and regulatory audit processes ensuring compliance.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least one year of related accounts payable or finance experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to handle cash items up to 10 lb without assistance.
• Professional appearance, confidentiality and adherence to company policies.
