Technical Coordinator – Water & Environment (Rainwater Harvesting)

About the role

The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN‑Habitat) is seeking a short‑term Technical Coordinator to support its “Sejnane in Action” project in Tunisia. Working remotely for a seven‑month consultancy, the contractor will help the municipality of Sejnane develop and implement practical rainwater harvesting solutions that improve water availability and resilience.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and refining work‑plans for rainwater harvesting activities.
• Provide technical inputs to the design and planning of rainwater harvesting systems.
• Collaborate with the UN‑Habitat Tunisia Office, municipal officials, and national‑local stakeholders.
• Support the identification of sustainable technical solutions for the WASH sector in Sejnane.
• Deliver agreed‑upon outputs and report progress to the Head of Office, UN‑Habitat Tunisia.

Required profile

• Experience in water resources, environmental management, or related fields.
• Familiarity with rainwater harvesting concepts and implementation in arid contexts.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
• Availability for a seven‑month remote assignment.
