Specialty Sushi Cook

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Specialty Sushi Cook to join our hotel kitchen team in Tunis. You will be responsible for preparing and cooking sushi dishes to our high quality and presentation standards while supporting a fast‑paced service environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients – portion, chop, store, and thaw foods according to recipes.
• Cook sushi and related dishes, monitor quality, and test doneness by tasting, smelling, or piercing.
• Ensure proper portioning, garnish, and presentation before service.
• Maintain a clean and safe kitchen: wash tools, disinfect surfaces, and verify appliance temperatures.
• Report any product or equipment issues to the manager and follow safety and security policies.
• Assist teammates during busy periods and provide courteous guest interactions.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience in food preparation or a similar kitchen role.
• Ability to stand, walk, and lift objects up to 10 lb without assistance.
• No supervisory experience or specific licenses required.

Required skills

• Food preparation techniques, including sushi assembly.
• Knife handling and precise cutting skills.
• Temperature monitoring and control of kitchen equipment.
