Software Engineer – FPGA Prototyping

About the role

Join Siemens EDA's Hardware-Assisted Verification Division as a Software Engineer on a high‑performing FPGA‑based prototyping R&D team. You will design, develop, and debug software for the Veloce proFPGA platform, supporting both internal and external customers.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers in designing, developing, modifying, and implementing software for FPGA prototyping tools.
• Ensure functional quality of released products across all required platforms.
• Develop low‑level validation software for hardware components.
• Integrate system components in close coordination with the software team.
• Work under supervision while applying basic to moderate technical skills.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in C++, algorithms, and object‑oriented development.
• Strong knowledge of digital design using VHDL, Verilog, and SystemVerilog.
• Hands‑on experience with FPGA design, Vivado or Quartus, and static timing analysis.
• Solid debugging skills in RTL design and simulation.
• Familiarity with Linux and scripting languages such as TCL, Bash, and Python.
• Experience with version‑control systems (Git, Perforce, or SVN).
• Fluent English communication skills.
