Senior Project Associate – Migration, Environment & Climate Change

About the role

The Senior Project Associate will support the implementation and continuous development of the Migration, Environment, and Climate Change (MECC) portfolio for IOM Tunisia, contributing to evidence‑based migration management and reduced irregular migration risks in the context of climate‑related disasters.

Key responsibilities

• Support implementation and reporting of the MECC portfolio under the Danish climate‑change and migration data programme.
• Monitor project progress, develop tracking and reporting tools, and assist in preparing a national action plan on migration, environment and climate change.
• Coordinate with government officials and stakeholders to integrate human mobility into the National Adaptation Plan and support capacity‑building programmes for ministries and agencies.
• Organise administrative and logistical activities, including contracts, procurement, payments, field missions, workshops and meetings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Environmental Studies, Migration Studies, Climate Change, International Relations, Public Policy, Social Sciences) with at least four years of professional experience (or high‑school diploma with six years experience).
• Familiarity with climate change and environmental degradation programming; experience liaising with donors, government authorities, NGOs, and capacity‑building or grant‑management activities is desired.
• Prior experience in an international organization or NGO is an advantage.

Required skills

• Strong organisational and planning abilities.
• Excellent written and oral communication in Arabic, French and English.
• High computer literacy: MS Office Word, Excel and Outlook; experience with web‑based management systems.
• Ability to analyse and interpret climate‑mobility data and source information.
