Senior Project Associate – Migration, Environment & Climate Change

About the role

The Senior Project Associate will support the implementation and continuous development of the Migration, Environment, and Climate Change (MECC) portfolio for IOM Tunisia, contributing to evidence‑based migration management and reduced irregular migration risks in the context of climate‑related disasters.

Key responsibilities

• Support project implementation, monitoring, reporting and development of tracking tools.
• Assist in drafting a national action plan on migration, environment and climate change aligned with the Kampala Declaration.
• Facilitate collaboration with government officials and stakeholders to integrate human mobility into the National Adaptation Plan.
• Provide logistical and administrative support for contracts, procurement, payments and field missions.
• Contribute to capacity‑building programmes for ministries and agencies on MECC topics.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies, Migration Studies, Climate Change, International Relations, Public Policy, Social Sciences or related field, with at least 4 years of professional experience (or high‑school diploma with 6 years relevant experience).
• Familiarity with climate change, environmental degradation programming and analysis; experience liaising with donors, government authorities and NGOs is desired.
• Strong organizational, planning and communication abilities; ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• High‑level proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Experience using web‑based management systems for data handling and reporting.
• Ability to analyse and interpret climate‑mobility data.
