Senior Data Engineer

About the role

This is a full‑time senior data engineering position responsible for leading a team of up to 15 engineers. The role requires fluency in English and strong expertise in SQL and Python to design, build, and maintain data pipelines.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain company databases and data pipelines, ensuring high data quality.
• Troubleshoot and resolve data‑quality issues, creating Python scripts to correct or transform datasets.
• Extract business and location data through APIs, Overpass Turbo, and OpenStreetMap.
• Import large CSV/data files into SQL databases and perform validation, cleaning, deduplication, and normalization.
• Document scripts, queries, procedures, and fixes, and supervise junior data personnel when assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in data engineering, with 4–5+ years preferred.
• Proven ability to lead a team of data engineers and work independently on troubleshooting.
• Fluency in English (mandatory) and knowledge of Russian, Spanish or French is a plus.

Required skills

• SQL – querying, joins, aggregation, optimization, and data validation.
• Python – scripting for data processing, automation, and issue resolution.
• Overpass Turbo / OpenStreetMap API for geographic and business data extraction.
• ChatGPT Pro and Claude Pro for AI‑assisted coding, debugging, and documentation.
• Hubstaff – familiarity with time‑tracking software.
