Senior AI Backend Engineer (LLMs & AI Agents)

About the role

Tappz is building AI‑native applications powered by large language models. We are looking for a senior backend engineer who will own the design and delivery of AI‑driven services and agent workflows, turning cutting‑edge research into production‑ready features.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement backend systems that integrate LLMs and AI APIs.
• Develop multi‑step AI agent workflows and tool integrations.
• Build Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines using vector search technologies.
• Handle prompt orchestration, context management, and performance optimisation.
• Deploy AI features to production, ensuring low latency and cost efficiency.

Required profile

• Strong backend engineering experience with Node.js, Typescript, Python and Nest.js.
• Hands‑on experience with Google Cloud Platform services.
• Deep familiarity with large language models and AI APIs.
• Experience building AI agents, multi‑step workflows, and RAG pipelines.
• Proven ability to ship production‑grade AI features.
