Production Technician

About the role

The Production Technician will operate and maintain manufacturing equipment to ensure efficient production and high‑quality metal packaging products. This role involves monitoring machinery, performing routine maintenance, and supporting continuous improvement on the shop floor.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor production machinery such as presses, forming machines, and conveyor systems while following safety protocols.
• Conduct routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and minor repairs to minimise downtime.
• Perform visual quality checks and use measuring tools to verify product specifications.
• Troubleshoot basic equipment malfunctions and escalate complex issues to senior technicians.
• Load and unload raw materials and finished goods, maintaining accurate inventory records.
• Complete production logs, quality documentation, and maintain a clean 6S‑compliant work environment.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production targets.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent; technical diploma or certification in industrial mechanics or electrical technology is a plus.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to operate and troubleshoot production equipment.
• Basic understanding of electrical systems and control panels.
• Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and production specifications.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
