PLC Specialist (H/F)

About the role

Valeo is seeking a PLC Specialist to design, program and optimise control systems for its production equipment. The role involves creating sequential charts (Grafcet), integrating PLCs with the company’s MES, and ensuring reliable operation of automated stations.

Key responsibilities

• Design and program the control part of equipment, including Grafcet charts.
• Participate in the automation roll‑out plan and fine‑tune automated stations.
• Deploy digital applications such as MES and connect PLCs to the MES.
• Troubleshoot and resolve PLC‑related reliability issues.
• Apply the IProM procedure and Lean Process Design methodology for large automation projects.
• Perform functional analysis and design electrical and pneumatic schematics.
• Support ramp‑up of new equipment and create technical specifications.
• Manage subcontractors and ensure compliance with standards.
• Monitor equipment performance (QCDM) and drive continuous improvement.
• Reduce cycle times, optimise investments and improve MTTR.
• Transfer knowledge to production and maintenance teams.
• Participate in QRQC, obsolescence planning and risk mitigation.
• Maintain safety and environmental standards, including LOTO and 5S.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of IProM procedures and Lean Process Design.
• Ability to conduct functional analysis and design electrical/pneumatic plans.
• Experience supporting equipment ramp‑up and managing specifications.
• Proven track record in continuous improvement and performance monitoring.
• Commitment to safety, environmental compliance and quality standards.
