Media and Communication Associate

About the role

The Media and Communication Associate will support IOM’s public information, media relations and outreach activities within the Programme Support Unit in Tunisia. Reporting to the Chief of Mission and the PSU Coordinator, the incumbent will help shape messaging on migration issues and ensure consistent communication across multiple channels.

Key responsibilities

• Gather, prepare and disseminate public information on IOM activities in Tunisia.
• Draft newsletters, press briefings, website content, social media posts and other media materials.
• Assist with updating the mission’s website and social media accounts and translate content between English, Arabic and French.
• Conduct media stakeholder analysis and maintain relationships with press, radio and TV partners.
• Prepare daily news digests, internal updates and visual communication assets in line with IOM guidelines.
• Support the organization of events, meetings and trainings, including talking points and presentations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Media, Journalism or related field (or high school diploma with five years relevant experience).
• Minimum three years of experience developing and implementing communications strategies, preferably in migration contexts.
• Fluency in Arabic, English and French (oral and written).

Required skills

• Proficiency with social media platforms and management tools.
• Audio‑visual production, photography and video editing.
• Graphic design using Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Publisher.
• Microsoft Office suite.
